Background
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a dynamic and growing inter-governmental organization, with over 146 member states. IOM works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems, and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including refugees and internally displaced people.

Head of Sub-Office/Assistant Program Officer
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission located in Pohnpei, the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and in close collaboration with Program Managers, the successful candidate is responsible and accountable for assisting in the implementation and monitoring of all activities related to IOM activities being implemented in Chuuk State, FSM.

Desirable Qualifications
Applicants must have an Undergraduate Bachelor Degree; with further graduate studies an added advantage. Must have at least two years of professional level experience, with experience working for an Embassy, development agency, United Nations agency or international organization an added advantage.  Experience working in the education and/or environmental and/or disaster management sectors highly beneficial, and experience supervising staff advantageous.

Language
Fluency in English and a local language of Chuuk is essential for this position.

Grade and Salary
Grade: National Officer - A
Salary: $17,063 Nett per annum ($21, 121 Gross)
Other Requirements
Appointment to these positions requires police clearance and a medically fit to work certificate
