ARRA Supplement Project Champion Position
The position of the Cooperative Partnership Agreement (CPA) Tobacco-Diabetes Supplement Project Champion is a 21 months period (July 2010 to December 2011) professional level open to individuals who is familiar with lifestyle issues in the Federated States of Micronesia; considered an expert in this area; operate under a NGO or individually who is not employed by any of the level of government (National, State, or Municipal) and not a member of the Tobacco & Diabetes Coalition.
- Duties & responsibilities:
- Worked with former Supplement Project Champion for handover of project.
- Obtain all documents of the projects and edit as appropriate for the language and alignment to the project goals.
- Review and get familiarize with the update and status of the project to avoid set back of the project timelines.
- Familiarize with the work plans, milestones, regular scheduled activities of the supplement project and teleconferencing.
- Assist the FSM Tobacco Prevention and Control Program Director in consultation with the diabetes/NCD Program Coordinator in the coordination and Administration of the Supplement Project activities.
- Work with the FSM Tobacco and Control Program Financial Specialist in consultation with the Program Director to ensure compliance to the Project Budget Utilization Plan.
- Work with the FSM CPA Core Programs to ensure that the researches on the specified policies are coordinated with the States and partner agencies during the research phase.
- Work with the State Tobacco, NCD Programs and Coalitions to conduct further research for update of policy information throughout the project period.
- Review the research results and analyze these results.
- Work with National and State level to develop marketing tools and presentation using the research results and existing information for policy makers and community workshop.
- Collect, compile and interpret information in using epidemiological language to make the information collect whether Best Practice to be epidemiologically sound for the use of the supplement project cause.
- Ensure that tools and presentations for workshop are tailored to its audiences.
- Assist all 5 FSM Government (national and 4 states) in the direction of the current status of policy work needs regarding the specified policy area.
- Developed policy educational and awareness tools for the grassroots level and decision makers’ level.
- Work with State coalitions in coordination of the translations of the IEC tools.
- Monitor progress of supplement project policy work regularly with the States and National Policy group.
- Assist the FSM States and National policy work groups’ efforts in putting the specified policy areas.
- Continue with progress reporting quarterly and submit to the Director of FSM Tobacco Program.
- Continue to maintain timely and regular on-line reporting to the USA federal reporting site.
- Ensure that the evaluation plans are carried following the methodology selected by the FSM.
- Work with CPA core programs to identify CDC TA to the FSM.
