FSM Department of Health & Social Affairs Sets Role Model Example Press Release #1109-28 In a memo sent to all employees of the FSM Department of Health & Social Affairs (DHSA) dated November 19, 2009, Secretary of the Department, Hon. Dr. Vita A. Skilling, announced a ban on betel nut and tobacco chewing in the offices of the Department. Secretary Skilling said that as staff and employees of the Department of Health and Social Affairs, they should be good role models and ambassadors of good health to the public and she reminded all of her employees that the Department is mandated to ensure the health of the nation. The memo specifies that betel nut chewing, tobacco chewing and use of snuff will not be allowed inside the offices both in Palikir and at the Amcres Building in Kolonia. The memo was circulated to all employees of DHSA and to the President, Vice President, and Chief of Staff and became effective on the 19th of November, 2009. |
