New Senior Advisor to Office of SBOC

Mr. Fabian Nimea, the Director for the Office of Statistics, Budget & Economic Management, Overseas Development Assistance and Compact Management (SBOC) has hired a new Senior Advisor.  Mr. Asterio Takesy has taken on this role as of April 17th, 2009.  In a memo to all Departments of the National Government, Mr. Nimea states that “Mr. Takesy has many years of distinguished service as a senior diplomat and other leadership positions in our government and regionally, most recently ending two terms as the first Micronesian Director of the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP).

Mr. Takesy will take on, as his primary role, to assist with the 5th-Year Compact Review.  Director Nimea states that this is “work which we feel is of utmost importance at this juncture, and therefore the rationale to bring in someone of Mr. Takesy’s extensive experience and knowledge on international issues.”

As Director of SBOC, Mr. Nimea is the person leading the 5th-Year Compact Review which will be completed in December of 2009.
