President Signed Congressional Acts in to Laws Palikir, POHNPEI (FSMIS) – President Manny Mori has signed in to law two congressional measures which was passed by the 15th Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia during it’s 2nd Special Session September 2007. PL. No. 15-08, To enact a new title 27 of the Code of the Federated States of Micronesia to govern essential services and to enact a new chapter 2 thereof to create the Federated States of Micronesia Petroleum Corporation. PL. No. 15-09, To further amend title 2 of the Code of the Federated States of Micronesia as amended, by amending section 203, as amended by PL. Nos. 5-21, 6-62, 7-97, and 10-55 by further amending 204, as amended by PL Nos.5-21, 19-55, and by repealing 13-75, for the purpose of improving the efficiency of the executive branch, and for other purposes. Office of the Public Defender; Three resolutions has been adopted by the 15th Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia during its Second Special session just recently concluded, and they are as follows: Congressional Resolution NO. 15-4 – To approve a technical assistance grant from the U.S. Department of the Interior that will foster the participation by FSM auditors in the Auditor Training Program with the Department of Interior’s Office of the Inspector General. Congressional Resolution NO. 15-31 – To approve a technical Assistance Grant from U.S, Department of Interior to support Airport Security Training. Congressional Resolution NO. 15-35 – To shorten the second special session of the Fifteenth Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia. |
